Weigh in Saturday - FML edition
Sighhhh.
Okay, I had a bad day yesterday. I cheated kind of a lot. McDonalds for lunch, homemade Chicken Spaghetti for dinner. But I was pretty damn good the rest of the week, ate well, exercised almost every day.
Last week : 256.4
Today: 257.6
Gain: 1.2
Shit.
I guess my body has decided I’ve been doing this diet half-ass for the last couple of months and it’s just going...
The Hungry Hump
Feed me baby
Do the Hungry Hump
C’mon and do the Hungry Hump
I amused myself coming up with this term while writing an email to Chip a few minutes ago, and figured it would work nicely sung to the tune of the Humpty Dance, which hopefully most of you know - I know there’s a lot of late-teens/early-20’s people on here, but that’s one of those timeless 80’s songs. ...
Worst Time of Day
The worst time of day for my diet is late afternoon/early evening. Specifically right when I get home from work. I usually have a snack on the way home from work, like a cheese stick or yogurt. But some days it doesn’t make any difference, and I’m ravenous when I get home. Today I think I managed to eat about 500 calories before I forced myself out the door to the gym - it started...
More Jogging
I had a pretty good day, for a Monday. I wasn’t crazy hungry at work, which is nice. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, as (almost) always, lunch was chicken breast and green beans, snacks were cottage and string cheese and pretzels. Chip talked me into Tin Star for dinner, because their tacos are $2 on Mondays. You can get any of their tacos in lettuce wraps instead of tortillas, which is...
Happy Sunday
Happy Sunday night to all…the end of a long weekend for me. As I mentioned before, Thursday night I went down to Austin TX to see my little brother’s big-screen debut in the Austin Film Festival. Pretty cool. Back on Friday, and then my first 5K run on Saturday morning.
I’m feeling the run in my legs today (or should I say, the jog-walk). I’m still proud of shattering...
Ready to Run! (or walk)
Good morning! Today’s the day for my first 5K! I know it’s not a marathon or anything, but it’s still kind of exciting for me. There has been the threat of rain the last couple of days but it looks like it will be clear for us.
We got back from Austin last night, where we saw my little brother’s big-screen debut! A movie he was in was at the Austin Film Festival - pretty cool!
I wasn’t...
WIW
I’ve never done a Weigh In Wendesday, because I usually weigh on Saturday mornings, but I’ve been getting on the scale every day this week because of my rapid water weight loss.
I knew I peed like crazy yesterday, but I couldn’t believe it this morning when the scale said I’d lost four pounds! In one day! So that’s almost 10 in four days. Crazy I know, but my...
Aaaand I'm back
Where did I go, you ask? I went off the motherf’n wagon. Big time. Last week was terrible - it was PMS week but more than that it was just one of those episodes I have where sometimes I just can’t face the day (or week) with the knowledge that I can’t stuff my face with cookies…so that’s what I go do. And maybe also fries. And sweet tea. And so I gained 10 lbs.

Um, freaking out a little
My husband and I went on a 3 mile walk/jog tonight, and I jogged more than I ever have (still took 54 minutes to do three miles so obviously we weren’t running *that* much.) Well that was a couple hours ago, and now I cannot flex my feet. I can point my toes, but I can’t pull them back the other way. It’s like my shin muscles have staged a revolt and are refusing to work. I...
I love doing that too!

One of the awesome things about losing weight is being able to shop on your own closet. I’m wearing jeans from 2 years ago today!
Weekend Wrap up
Happy Sunday night to everyone (all eight of you). :-)
I had kind of a bumpy end of week/weekend. I think I was feeling repercussions from the crazy long ride we did on Wednesday, or maybe that’s just a big excuse for not controlling myself. Yeah, probably the latter. Thursday night we went out to eat at Tin Star. I got tacos in lettuce wraps, which are pretty healthy, but I was not...
41 Miles!
I meant to write this post several days ago, but time got away from me. Last Wednedsay my husband and I took the day off work. We had planned to go to the State Fair of Texas that day, but we ended up going the weekend before because we got free tickets to the Texas/OU game. So, we had this extra day off, and we decided to do a big bike ride instead.
Chip found a rails-to-trails bike trail...
A Case of the Mondays
It’s Monday, and the workday’s almost done. Today didn’t start off well at all, I was in a terrible mood all the way to work. It didn’t help that my iPhone was acting up so I couldn’t listen to any music or podcasts on the drive. But I’m proud to say I didn’t drown my sorrows in junk food. I got to work early, so I had plenty of opportunity to stop...
Weigh In!
My normal weigh in days are Saturdays, here’s the stats. This is for a two week period:
Today’s Weight : 254.8
Last Weight : 258.8
Loss : 4
Highest Weight (this year) : 309
Total Lost : 54.2
I was very glad to see these numbers since I was worried about my Friday morning cereal messing things up. Also, another victory - I was able to wear a pair of...
Ass Kicking
Chip and I tried out the Friday Night Ride tonight. It’s a ride that meets at a bike shop near White Rock Lake in Dallas at about 7:30 and rides around the lake, about an 11 mile ride. Chip used to do this ride when he first moved to Dallas, but I had never been. In fact this was also my first group ride. I was nervous about being able to keep up - I’m faster than I used to be, but...
5K
My main exercise is bike riding. My husband has always been a bike rider in one form or another. Since we’ve been together I’ve dabbled in it, but really got serious in the last couple of years. During this summer we’ve gone riding about 4 or 5 times per week, and we’ve ridden over 1,300 miles this year. And although we both enjoy it, sometimes you need a break. Just...
Nervous
Was it Shakespere that said “The course of true weight loss never did run smooth?”
So I woke up hungry this morning, not wanting those eggs I eat almost every day. Just do it, I told myself, only one more day before your weigh in, and then you can have a cheat day. Just one more day! And then I complained to my husband, and he suggested we have cereal for breakfast. I knew I...
