My husband and I are going out tonight after work, so I won’t have time for a workout. I decided to take my exercise clothes to work and go walk/jog on a nearby track at lunch. Lunchtime came, I changed clothes in the car in the underground parking lot, and drove over to the track. Parked, and started walking. On the return trip I was walking past the parking lot and glanced over,...

I was hoping for a little bit more, since I had gone up last week. This represents just a two pound loss over the course of two weeks, or one pound per week. However, I was not able to hold onto my eating yesterday, and I also didn’t work out like planned. So, if that means there’s still a little more hiding under some temporary water...
Good/Bad
So I had a nice surprise this morning. I got out my Old Navy jeans that I had grown out of during the holidays to see how they fit, and they slid right on and buttoned no problem! I was so excited!
About 30 minutes later, though, I remembered that I wore these jeans on Valentine’s Day (when they were painfully tight) and put them back in the closet without washing. So, where I thought...
NSV?
I’ve had a hard couple of days. I had a very painful and upsetting revelation in my personal life Monday night. I spent all of yesterday starting to deal with it. I would have thought I’d go running for the Ben and Jerry’s in a situation like this, but I didn’t. In fact I didn’t even want to - I was so upset I didn’t *want* to eat. This is a crazy notion. ...

Well, that is disappointing. I guess my indiscretions early in the week did more damage than I thought, and my being extra good the last three days didn’t undo it all. I wish somehow I could learn that one indulgence doesn’t deserve another. And another and another.
The S today stands for Sunday instead of Saturday. I did weigh...
What I Want Most
Happy Wednesday all. I’ve had a bit of a rough start to my week. I had a good weigh in on Saturday, and did good with the exercise over the weekend - almost 40 miles on my bike over the two days. I ate well during the days on the weekend, but both nights were off track - pizza on Saturday and early Valentine’s Dinner at Traildust Steakhouse on Sunday. If I could have left it at...
Wind + Hills = My Enemy
It wasn’t supposed to be windy today, but it was, of course. And we ended up choosing a bike path that had a lot of hills, with the uphills facing into the wind. Eeesh. But let me tell you, it was glorious on the way back down, with the wind at our backs. 1:40 hours, 900ish calories gone. Doing it again tomorrow!

Magically, I was hoping for more, but I’ll take it, after losing 12 pounds last week. When I first did the math I subtracted wrong, and I thought I’d lost almost 3, but alas. I guess these last 10 pounds I put on over the holidays will have to be chipped away a couple pounds at a time. So disappointing since I was down to 250 early in...
Running Music
I am always in search of songs to run to - it makes it infinately easier for me when I can run to a beat. But it’s hard to find those perfect songs that match my pace. I’ve found half a dozen that are good for the 4.3-4.5 mph range (I run slow).
Recently I watched Scott Pilgrim Vs The World and I got the soundtrack - I am really in love with one of the songs performed by the band...
Another Week Down
I was originally planning on not weighing this week because I had such a crazy big week last week and I didn’t want to be disappointed if I didn’t lose any. But, I have had another really good diet and exercise week and I just can’t help myself. So here’s hoping.
I get off work early on Fridays, so I decided to take advantage of the warmer temps and go walk around a...
I Have a Question
How *much* weight training should I be doing?
My main goal is fat loss, so I’ve got the cardio thing down. But I don’t know how much weight training to do. A couple years ago my husband I did a few sessions with a trainer. He had us split up our training into three days - legs one day, chest and triceps the next day, and back and biceps on the third. It’s been a while since...
I could get used to this
My prayers were indeed answered and we got just enough ice and snow to cancel my work today. But not enough to make walking through the gym parking lot a death defying exercise, like last week.
I logged 70 minutes of cardio today, and some back/bicep weights. I think the universe must be encouraging me, giving me all these lovely opportunities these last couple of weeks to spend lots of time at...
Gym Check
Hit the gym tonight solo, because my husband is at his hockey game, so I took the opportunity to do a full 60 min of cardio in addition to some chest and tricep weights. I split the cardio up between three different machines. 20 minutes x3 is easier for me to get through than 60 minutes of just one thing. Plus, with the elliptical for example, 20 minutes is about my limit because my feet go...
livingaimee said: WOW that’s amazing! So glad to see ur back on the wagon, what have you been doing this past week and half to get such big results??
The really big results are due mainly to this being my first week back on my regime - any other week I’d probably just lose 2 or 3 pounds. I use MyFitnessPal, and according to it I should be eating 1,370 calories to lose 2 lbs a week. Try...

I’ve been back on the wagon for a week and a half now. Saturday, January 29th I weighed in a 274. On December 11th I had hit a low of 250, so in the space of about 5 weeks I gained 24 lbs. Yeah, oops. I went to see my doctor a couple weeks ago and she was like “So, um…what happened to the dieting, and the...
